The Northern Lights in Iceland

Iceland is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.  From the moment the plane flew over the snow topped mountains I was memorised.

Once we had landed, found our hire car and made it to our Air BnB apartment it was already dark - but we made our way out for some dinner, excited to see and explore Reykjavik.  Once dinner was finished we were off to see the Northern Lights and I was bouncing around like a child on Christmas eve.

Driving on the wrong side of the road in the dark was more of a challenge than I realised and it was like jumping back into a car after just passing my driving test, but you soon get used to it again.

Admittedly, these aren't my best pictures of Iceland at night but taking photographs gets a bit tricky with the cold - so if you have a good camera, then it's definitely worth having a bit of a practice before you leave or when you're in the car (if you're like me and not too sure where all the buttons on your camera are).
