Going underground in a closed tube station

You may not realise, as I hadn't until a few weeks ago, but there are close tube stations in London that you are able to walk around and explore.

Last week I had the opportunity to go and do just this and it was amazing.  George and Asda invited me to their Halloween press day which was held in the old Aldwych station.  While we were there, we learned about the films that have been made their, the posters that are still hanging on the walls from the 1930's and 1970s, as we as walk along the track and learn a little about the history of the railway.

When we first took our few steps into the station, we were scared witless by an ear piercing scream - so that then had us all shook up ready for the rest of the decent into the underground tunnels.  I have to say at this point too, that this is the quietest I have ever seen any tube station at any point in my entire life, so it was pretty spooky and perfect for Halloween.

I loved their selection of snack food for Halloween too, so I will be well and truly prepped for Halloween, trick or treaters and parties this year!

Here are some of the photos from the event...
